Cowdogs Moving In

We moved into our Northern New Mexico cabin over Memorial Weekend, celebrating our family get-away place with Hallee and our good friends Bill and Cathy (and a menagerie of five dogs: Simba, Chelly, Oliver, Olivia, and Pal). Ross and I drove (and the cowdogs) the moving trucks full of mismatched furniture and various household items from the East Mountains through the golden mesas and purple high desert landscapes of Santa Fe and Abiquiu to the glorious green mountains of the Chama Valley (only a few miles from the Colorado border).
Ross and I set up house with the help of Chelly and Simba in twenty-four hours with gleeful anticipation of our Memorial Weekend celebration of "happy hour breakfasts," campfires in the backyard beside the acequias and Brazos River, and late night story-telling over bottles of good wine and a table-full of laughter as the five family dogs slept on the floor around us. Bliss.
