Several years ago after adopting Chelly and Simba, we went on a search for other Australian Cattle Dog mixes (see older posts to the Cowdog blog below). As our new family member, Chama the "wild child" continues grows up, we're once again curious about what other red heeler mixes might look like.
The nub tail and speckled paws are Chama's most endearing qualities. The mismatched (blue/brown eyes) are a little creepy and intriguing. The Bentley's Mark star on her forehead and the stripe down her face are signature "cowdog" traits. She's a lovely little mess of a dog.
Here are some other red heeler mixes out there in the world. Our best guess now is that Chama is a lab/heeler--with a little boxer mixed in there somewhere in the gene pool. She boxes like a champ and can run with the bulls.
The picture of the last dog (sitting on the car seat) looks exactly like our dog Lily who was brought from New Mexico to Colorado with a group of her brothers and sisters. I wonder if they're related? Send me an email at parmesanparker@gmail.com
