Chelly, Chama, Simba, and I went to the open area in the East Mountains to walk and explore. Chama is learning her way into "cowdog culture." When Simba signaled that it was time to play today, Chama joyfully responded by chasing him around the meadows until all three collapsed together under a juniper tree. Until today, I think Simba was hoping that Chama was going to go back to where she came from. But he's now found a kindred spirit in this fellow lab/heeler. All three look like this red, beautiful New Mexico earth. A tumble of red dust and speckles.
