Nova "Dogs Decoded"

Last night Michelle and I enjoyed a Nova episode investigating the origins of the dog. Very interesting! One border collie on the show has a vocabulary of 340 words, and is able to fetch a specific toy when shown a picture of it for the first time! All dogs are descended from wolves, with only a 2% variation in the genetic code. Oxytocin, the love hormone produced by mothers when they nurse, is evident in humans and their dogs when they have quality time together.
