Cow Dog Christmas and Snow Angels

We celebrated our first Christmas with Simba this year. There are a few things more comforting than two sleeping cow dogs curled by the fire. We are grateful for a restful holiday at home sharing Christmas cards, stories, and phone calls with family and friends. Today we are happily snowbound in the mountains with Chelly and Simba.

Sadly, the Medina family lost their beloved red heeler Hannah just before Thanksgiving. Her sweet and joyful presence has been sorely missed as the family has faced a series of illnesses and surgery over the past six weeks. Nevertheless, Christmas day brought fresh snow to the Missouri Ozarks and a little fuzzy bundle waiting on their front porch. A ten-week old rottweiler mix they named Holly appeared at their home unexpectedly, eagerly wiggling her way into their house and hearts.

Holly doesn't appear to have any hint of a cow dog, but she is a special gift nonetheless--a snow angel bringing joy to the entire family. Curling up into the empty space just waiting to be filled.
